Un post rock intimo ed intenso

Al Circolo della Musica di Rivoli si è assistito ad un live intenso e bellissimo quello dei tedeschi Notwist (attivi dal 1989), in Italia con un mini tour che vale la pena seguire per l’interessante scelta di eseguire brani per la maggior parte dal loro album che forse ha avuto meno riscontro, ” Messier Objects“, una raccolta di lavori strumentali inediti e B-sides, pubblicato nel 2015 su Alien Transistor. In un ora e mezza i Notwist hanno allietato il pubblico per l’annunciato sold out.
La formazione dei sei ragazzi tedeschi si arricchisce anche di due xilofoni molto d’atmosfera per i brani stile colonna sonora, come detto da loro ad inizio concerto, per film o performance teatrali con un video show sperimentale ricco di improvvisazione. Il concerto è stato un’esperienza musicale ed al tempo stesso visiva, affidata alle proiezioni sperimentali dell’artista tedesco Anon Kaun e al light designer Bertil Marks. Il loro post rock elettronico, con influenze indie, ha entusiasmato i presenti grazie ad uno show unico e potente.
Pochi i pezzi cantati ed in conclusione del concerto alcuni dei brani più conosciuti come “Consequence”, “Pilot” e “One with the freaks” che appare anche nella colonna sonora del film “L’amico di famiglia” del regista partenopeo Paolo Sorrentino.

An intimate and intense post rock
The Circolo della Musica, in Rivoli, was attended by an intense and beautiful live of the Germans Notwist (active since 1989), in Italy with a mini tour that is worth following for the interesting choice to perform the songs for the most part from their album that perhaps has had less feedback “Messier Objects”, a collection of unreleased instrumental works and B-sides, published in 2015 on Alien Transistor. In an hour and a half, the Notwist cheered the audience for the announced sold out.
The formation of the six German boys is also enriched by two very atmospheric xylophones for the soundtrack style songs, as said by them at the beginning of the concert, for films or theatrical performances with an experimental video show full of improvisation. The concert was a musical and visual experience, entrusted to experimental projections by the German artist Anon Kaun and the light designer Bertil Marks. Their electronic post rock, even with indie influences, thrilled the people in the room for the sounds and videos used for the show which was unique and very powerful.
Few pieces sung and at the end of the concert some of the best known songs such as “Consequence”, “Pilot” and “One with the freaks” that also appears in the soundtrack of the film “L’amico di famiglia” by the Neapolitan director Paolo Sorrentino.
